Domenico Pellegrino draws with light the legend of the "Moor's heads".
The heads tell of a forbidden love between a Moor and a Sicilian girl, they evoke the meeting and clash of two cultures, and recall the bitter punishment of beheading (also sadly current) dictated by amorous passion in the version of the legend that sees the woman kill the man to prevent him from returning to his country and his family - or dictated by a presumed wounded honor, in a second version of the legend that sees the woman's family who, once discovered the relationship with the foreigner, kills both lovers.
