Domenico Pellegrino draws the legend of the "Moor's heads" with light.
The heads tell of a forbidden love between a Moor and a Sicilian girl, evoke the meeting and clash of two cultures, and recall the bitter punishment of beheading (also sadly current) dictated by amorous passion in the version of the legend that sees the woman killing the man to prevent him from returning to her country and family - or dictated by an assumed wounded honor, in a second version of the legend that sees the family of the woman who, once they discover the relationship with the foreigner, kills both lovers.
