The Olive tree in the Odyssey, appears every time there is a positive turnaround, a resolution and a dissolution of an impasse, in his installation Pellegrino uses the olive tree, as a symbol through which the planet is reborn through positive man interventions.
Under the olive trees he takes refuge, exhausted, after the shipwreck that brings him to Scheria and the Olive tree is the tree that welcomes him in his homeland, furthermore, Ulivo is the pole with which Odysseus and his companions blind Polyphemus, and the handle of the ax with which the hero builds the boat on the island of Calypso.
The trees made by Pellegrino are dead olive trees that the artist has recovered and that with his intervention makes them be reborn, sprout: their buds are made of light, that light that gives back life and starts everything again every time the Sun shine. These artworks using two dead olive trees which the artist modifies with interventions of light.
The trees are raised from the ground and the roots ready to settle on another ground, an invitation to act. Trees, individuals, rich, fluid like water, will flow their streets. All different and alone united to form a community. The works are part of a collection consisting of 24 trees, like 24 are the books of the Odyssey, which the artist will create and will constitute a widespread collection.
