Domenico's work is expressed in the synthesis between heritage and future; the traditions, myths and legends of Sicily and the Mediterranean are the leitmotif of his works.


Contemporary superheroes dressed in traditional Sicilian decorations, the lights of the patronal feasts that become a new language used by the artist, identify the two main art collections of Domenico Pellegrino.


Its lights are "eternal symbols carved in wood", which recall "the rebirth, the grace of Santuzza after the plague, the light after oblivion". The love for this tradition translates into a series of works embellished with colored lights, for a contemporary folkloric effect, romantic and poor, kitsch and ironic.

"My works transform the ancient into something that can communicate quickly to the here and now. Through the aesthetics of my work, I try to transfer the strength of the Sicilian people, their history and even their legends. The sculptures are created using the classic artisanal methods, I paint them by hand with oil colors, echoing the gestures with which Sicilian carts were decorated, but I represent contemporary references, such as the imagery of comic book superheroes. Or I choose cutting-edge equipment such as my light installations made of LEDs, whose low energy consumption symbolizes respect for nature ""
